I was amazed by how big this place was! It looks small on the outside but once you walk through the inside part there is plenty of deck seating out back. The waitress in our area was very quick and accommodating with our 3 dogs. I wish we lived closer as I could see it becoming a tradition. The views enough were a reason to come but the food was good too! I order the Florida kiss drink and loved how sweet and easy it was to go down. Then I ordered the Florida burger and split it with my husband and it was huge. It had pico de gallo and guac in it which made it delicious and tropical. It also came with a good amount of fries which were seasoned well and delicious. We ordered key lime pie for dessert and it was the best We've ever tasted. I don't like key lime pie normally and loved it. Definitely must visit!

I definitely enjoy this place! Went for a Friday 'Happy Hour' and was happy to see that it was not packed with snowbirds, they must've been down at Joe's! There were no seats at the bar so my group and I sat down at a table. The live music was enjoyable and not too loud. Our server came over right away, took our order and was back in literally moments with our drinks. We also ordered food, which was enjoyed by all very much. We ordered their fish and chips, Woody's burger, and a group of Ruben. All the food was served quickly, and was hot, especially the french fries, which are thick and delicious. Overall, there was just a great experience with the food, music, drinks, and atmosphere. I look forward to going back!

Good grub. The blackened grouper is good and the waitresses and waiters are friendly. There' s always live entertainment. The prices are fair.

Great location on the water right off the Ellenton Outlet exit on I-75. They had a sign up to walk in and pick your table which I liked and we sat right on the water. Looks like they have plenty of seating and great spot for boats to pull up. I ordered the Pulled Pork Nachos and my mom ordered a Cheese Pizza. I loved my nachos, great flavor. For dessert I took home a Peanut Butter Pie which was yummy.

On a road trip to south Florida, we discovered Woody's River Roo through some "near me" searches. And we're so happy we found this hidden gem. It is actually quite hidden in a spot just off the highway on the river, but down a street you might not think would lead to a restaurant. But we spotted the tiki roof and got a good parking spot around 11:30am for lunch. A sign said to "seat yourself" so we picked a table with am umbrella right on the deck by the riverside. There were lots of nooks with additional seating, but the main area is right in front of a big stage. I can absolutely see how fun this place must be on the weekends! We opted for Key West Bowls with Shrimp and Grouper (cooked to perfection) and a Grouper Reuben (delicious and quite a big portion). Lunch was relaxing and very tasty, with great service.

Love eating outside on the water under the tiki huts. Our waitress was friendly and got our order in and food out quickly. Ordered the pulled pork nachos with extra cheese - don't disappoint! Recommend for a relaxed lunch or dinner.

Woody's River Roo 8-31-24 First of all, when I pulled into the parking lot, I did not expect much from this place as it was not the fanciest place I have ever seen. We got there about 12 noon on a Saturday memorial weekend. This place was not full, but it was neatly organized and clean. Some tables were under the Tiki, some were out on the boat dock area with umbrellas to shade them and some were outside and inside the Gift Shop area yes, they have a separate Gift Shop. There was a 2nd bar out on the docks to help get drinks to people. There are lot of choices if you want to sit outside or inside with ac. If you sit under the Tiki, you can hear and see the musicians much better. Our waitress Missy came over fast and took our drink orders and left menus for us to look over. She came back with our drinks and took our orders and answered any of our questions being our 1st time there. I ordered Crab and Shrimp Dip for an appetizer. It consisted of Crab, Shrimp in a dip with Tortilla Chips. For my main dish I ordered the Seafood Boil which consisted of Shrimp, Mussels, Andouille Sausage, Potatoes and Corn all for 21.95 (it was on special) You could add a Lobster Tail for 15.00 extra which I did. One thing I found I really liked was Missy asked how I wanted my Seafood boil did I want it mild medium or Hot. Way to go guys now let's see if it ends up like I ordered. The wife ordered a side salad as she wanted the lobster that I ordered with my meal. My dad ordered the BBQ Wings. My appetizer of Crab and Shrimp dip got delivered fast and I could not believe how good this was. I am telling you I have done tons of reviews all over SW Florida and this is the best I have ever had. To tell you the truth I could have eaten an entire large bowl of that dip. We were about ¾ way through my appetizer and our main dishes came out. My Seafood boil was very hot and seasoned perfectly just like I like I wanted. This dish was so good I was astonished. I can't say enough how much I loved this dish and there was plenty of Sea food in my Boil to fill me up. My wife's Lobster Tail was hot and seasoned to her liking as well. My wife's Salad was plentiful for her to eat, and she loved it. My dad stated the wings were hot and seasoned perfectly. There was plenty for him to eat and he was done, he was full. The music did start a little late but it was nice to have it while we ate our meals, and it was not too loud so we could hear each other easily. This place hit on all cylinders for us. I cannot think of anything they did to get less than 5 stars from the service to the food to the music and even the vibe of the place was all terrific. The only thing they need to do, and this is not a deal breaker, is redo the men's bathroom, it needs some real attention. If you get the chance to go you will not be disappointed. I know we will definitely be back. I give this place a top score of 5 stars, and I just don't hand them out they have to earn them, and Woody's did just that. Follow Me On FB For More Fun. We enjoyed it here. Love being on the water & the Live music! They have a little gift shop as well. I was happy because we definitely needed our coozies. Nice attentive staff. We just ordered some pickins. Coconut shrimp & burger & fries. It was all good. Lots of people bring their dogs. Cute but please consider the heat! They were all panting like crazy & didn't look very comfortable:/ Also could do without dog hair blowing on our table while we're eating. We sat towards the front for the band but next time I might walk back to the tables over the water. Super cute, chill vibe & not as many dogs out there.

It was a very open and lively place with a nice view of the river next to I75. As you might expect with many river stops - it is set up with an island-like theme to have a good time at the bar...but there isn't much budget allocated to the bathrooms. The food and service were solid though, so I'd be up for stopping again on another day - especially after a long day on the water. We had already eaten lunches and snacks on the pontoon so weren't that hungry, but did enjoy a tap beer and a Shrimp Basket (see picture). While the coleslaw quantity was minimal, the shrimp were crispy and tasty - and I really liked the dipping sauce.
